Chennai; caters the need of a large number of Tamil jains living in the southern suburb
of Chennai; the Jinalayam has an ancient stone image of Adhi Bhagwan ,discovered in
the area;This statue was found as a stone for washing cloths near Kovilambakkam.It
was in hand of the builder when a tamil jain girl recognized it was as a Teerthankara.
For some period, it was kept for worship in the north Indian Jain house. By the initiative
taken by the great hearts of Adambakkam a temple is built in Vanuvarampet area and
the idol brought to the present glorious position. The first floor is the main shrine and
the ground floor has a small shine for Adhi Bhagwan –a marble image; a small sub
shrine has Dharma Devi Yakshi; the top floor is planned to have 24 Thirthakaras; the
temple has a Manasthamba; several metal images of Thirthankaras, and Pancha
Parameshti are present
